Is chiropractic care safe for my child?
Absolutely! Babies, toddlers, and school-age children are very easy and safe to care for. Babies only require light pressure with a finger. A toddler adjustment uses a special headpiece that makes the adjustment gentle and comfortable. Care is catered to the size, comfort, and effectiveness of the individual. Of course, adjustments are explained and demonstrated to parents and patients before they receive care.

What is the cost?

We do understand why you would like to know this. We would too. As of now, the initial new patient visit includes consultation, physical exam, computer scans, interpretation, and a special report visit is usually $225; however, we do offer monthly specials that are common and can save you over $175. The cost of care itself will vary based on the care plan since each plan is personalized.

Do you take my insurance?

If I paid for insurance, I would certainly want to use it. Yes, for some insurances, we are “in-network.” However, insurance can be limited in its availability for use. Insurance does not cover many conditions that kids come in with, like colic, digestive problems, chronic illness, developmental delays, and similar conditions. Care is often very limited to the number of visits per year as well.

We do have a solution! Our payment plans allow us to significantly discount our fees. Especially when it comes to additional family members. If we find there is a benefit to using insurance, we will. Most of the time, we find that our plans offer significant savings.

What if I do not get better?

We can understand why this would be a concern, especially if you tried so many other ways to resolve the health issue. Who wants to get their hopes up just to try something else that may fail? First, the consultation, scans, and exam allow us to determine if chiropractic care is a “good fit” and provide a good understanding of how well you or your child will progress through care. Periodic progress exams allow us to monitor and measure the results. If we cannot help you, we will gladly find someone who can. The goal is to get you or your child better, even if that means it is not with us.

How many times will I have to go?

Generally, the severity and duration of the health problem determine the frequency and duration of care. Factors such as health history, physical exam, scan results, age, and other health factors play a part in determining care at the beginning. The care plan will adapt if you progress better or worse than expected or if a setback occurs during care.

Why do you use computer scans?

As you may know, our focus is on how the nervous system is functioning. These scans allow us to detect and measure where the nervous system is not be working properly. The thermal scans measure heat and reveal specific areas of nerve irritation and dysregulation along the spine. The surface EMG measures how much energy the muscles near the spine are using and how that energy is being applied. It shows how well the brain and nervous system are communicating. The Heart Rate Variability (HRV) scan uses the heart to measure the “stress load” that inhibits the function of the nervous system. These scans are safe for all ages, as they only measure what is naturally being emitted from the body.

I am nervous about my neck and back being adjusted, is there another way?

We can understand your concern, especially if you have not experienced a chiropractic adjustment before. Most of what people associate chiropractic care with is a quick movement and a “popping” noise from the joint, not the bones, as some people think. That is not the only way to adjust someone. There are ways to use just pressure and breathing. Also, for children, we use the child head piece that can work quite well for adults too. Patient comfort is always considered, and we do explain an adjustment before it is given.

Can chiropractic care help with other problems beside back & neck pain?

Understanding that the focus is on the nervous system and that the nervous system controls and coordinates every cell, tissue, and organ of the body, the answer would be an absolute yes! We invite you to visit our Blog and read our success stories to learn more about those conditions.

Is nutrition counseling, supplements, weight loss, and physical therapy part of your care?

Although these are beneficial for health, they do not align with the chiropractic care in this office that focuses on the nervous system. Some advice may be given regarding these topics, but we do not provide a plan or care regarding these or similar services. If these are services that people need or want, we refer or help people find those services.

What is wellness care?

Wellness care is a choice for patients after the initial restorative care. It is for those who want to optimize their health, or who do not want to return to the pain and suffering that motivated them to start care. Care consists of regular visits, whether people are feeling good or not, with the intent of keeping the spine and the nervous system working at its best. During visits, we talk about healthy habits and what the patient is doing to stay healthy.

Do you adjust stuffed animals?

For Sure! Dr. Randy has adjusted stuffed hamsters, frogs, dinosaurs, dogs, cats, penguins, unicorns and the occasional Barbie doll. It helps build trust with your child.
